Egypt and Germany signed €139 million in new agreements, €118 million in financial cooperation and a €21 million tranche under the debt swap program, raising the total value of debt swaps to €297 million. The package includes €32 million in grants for establishing 25 Centers of Excellence in technical education, and €86 million (comprising €54 million in development financing and €32 million in grants) to connect two Aqua wind power stations with 1,100 MW to the national grid under the NWFE program. Germany noted that the supported projects will deliver green electricity to over 2.5 million households, reinforcing its role as Egypt’s largest bilateral partner in the energy pillar of NWFE. Egypt emphasized that the agreements strengthen bilateral ties, support climate action, and accelerate private-sector investment enabled by recent infrastructure and legislative reforms.
