Egypt secures €21million EU grant for low-carbon transition

On Sunday,15th June 2025, Egypt signed an agreement with the European Investment Bank’s development arm, EIB Global, for the use of a €21 million grant. The grant aims to accelerate efforts by both the Egyptian private and public sectors to decarbonize and promote environmental sustainability.

Approximately €20 million will be used to co-finance projects that reduce carbon emissions, enhance recycling, and decrease industrial pollution. The remaining €1 million will support the digitalization of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency to improve monitoring and transparency.
