The Egyptian Customs Authority has announced that the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system will be mandatory for all air freight shipments to Egypt starting January 1, 2026. This expansion follows the successful implementation of ACI for sea freight in 2021 and aims to improve supply chain efficiency, border security, and customs clearance.
The ACI system, operated via the Nafeza platform, requires importers and shipping agents to submit cargo details in advance. Exporters must upload shipping documents through CargoX, including the Advance Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) number, which is essential for entry into Egypt.
