Egypt signs PPAs for 5,620 MW renewable energy, storage projects

Egypt signed several agreements for renewable energy and storage projects with a total capacity of 5,620 megawatts as part of its energy transition strategy. This includes a 900 MW wind power project in Ras Shukeir, along with agreements to purchase its electricity. In addition, there are major projects in Naga Hammadi, including a 2,000 MW solar power plant and a 2,000 MW battery storage facility, as well as two solar projects in El-Oweinat with capacities of 320 MW and 400 MW. These projects aim to expand clean energy production and improve energy storage, supporting Egypt’s shift toward more sustainable energy sources.
