The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between Egypt and Germany, which has already reached a portfolio of €1.6 billion, supporting key sectors such as energy, climate, water, sanitation, and private sector competitiveness.
During the meeting, they discussed the financial cooperation agreement for 2022, which was signed between Egypt and Germany for €118 million (equivalent to EGP 6.7 billion, which includes financial support for different projects in the technical education and energy.
The two sides discussed preparations for upcoming joint negotiations on bilateral cooperation for the current year, including new tranches under the Egyptian German debt swap program. A new tranche worth €21 million (EGP 1.2 billion) was signed to support renewable energy projects, continuing the successful cooperation that began in 2011 and has funded numerous development initiatives.
