On Wednesday, 18th June 2025, the European Parliament, approved a €4 billion macro-financial assistance (MFA) package for Egypt, which Egypt has 35 years to repay.
The funds will be subject to release, if Egypt successfully implements the IMF program and follow the agreed policy measure that will be specified in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the EU and Egypt.
