MoU signed for LNG liquefaction and bunkering station in Port Said

Egypt is advancing the construction of an LNG liquefaction and storage facility and has concluded an agreement to secure the project’s gas supply and deepen cooperation between the oil and gas sector and the Suez Canal Authority. After extensive technical and economic assessments, supported by South Korean partners, the project is now entering its final implementation phase. The facility is a key component of the national energy and infrastructure strategy and is intended to strengthen Egypt’s role in global supply chains for clean fuels. At the same time, the project contributes to the development of the Suez Canal as a “green shipping corridor” by establishing LNG as a lower-emission marine fuel and attracting new investment in LNG bunkering. The Suez Canal Authority also plans to use the station to supply its own LNG-powered fleet in order to further modernize navigation and logistics services and secure the long-term competitiveness of the waterway.
