Orascom Construction has announced that they have started their operations at the newly expanded 650 MW build-own-operate (BOO) wind farm in Egypt, six months ahead of schedule.
The project’s is being developed by of Red Sea Wind Energy S.A.E.. The consortium consists of ENGIE with 35%, Orascom Construction with 25%, Toyota Tsusho Corporation with 20%, and Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation with 20%.
The wind farm is expected to generate clean energy for over 1 million homes, lowering carbon emissions by around 1.5 million tons annually and contributing to Egypt’s energy transition goals.
